Things To Do! Get a pair of binoculars and head over to the North Jetty or take a ferry ride to Westport for your chance to see some of the areas most magnificent creatures; whales! Watch for our Harbor's pod of resident gray whales during season. If you don't happen to catch any glimpses on your ferry ride, try taking part in an exciting whale watching tour while in Westport. Or try beachcombing, bird watching, bicycling, clam digging, fishing (fresh water, surf fishing, crabbing), PGA golf (Ocean Shores has Washington's only PGA rated championship course on the coast), horseback riding, kite-flying, hiking and wildlife viewing - and don't forget storm watching! You can move from one fun activity to the next just as easy as walking down the block. Kids will find plenty to do from playing mini golf to racing go karts, visiting a video arcade, riding bikes, digging in the sand... well... you get the point. Ocean Shores has activities to keep families happy. And it's a great escape for couples too. The Ocean Shores Peninsula features six miles of public sandy beaches, approximately 170 acres at high tide. The beaches are popular for clamming (in season), jetty and surf fishing, whale watching, and seashell collecting. Horse rentals along the beach are available throughout the year. There are five public beach access points in Ocean Shores. When it's nasty, head down to the Jetty some awe inspiring waves breaking. Swimming Other than local hotel pools and the Community Club facilities, swimming is not recommended in the surf.
